Pairing Hydrafacial and BBL Treatments

Posted by on Jul 19, 2019 in News, Tips & Tricks | 0 comments

Pairing Hydrafacial and BBL Treatments

“By stacking BBL treatments with the incredible Hydrafacial, we are combining the power of broad band light therapy with an intense infusion of potent antioxidants, including Vitamin A, Vitamin E, White Tea Extract, Horse Chestnut Seed Extract, and Rosemary Extract. (Youth Lab 2019)” In April 2018, Youth Lab Medical Spa in Perth, Australia reported on the ins and outs of laser therapy in all its different forms. They also touched on how BBL (Broad Band Light) treatments can be enhanced by Hydrafacials. In their words, “For the last decade, light-based therapy has become a widely accepted and reliable method for the treatment of photo-damaged skin, pigmentation, vascularity, reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and other signs of ageing. BBL is the latest and most advanced technology in light therapy that sets the standard for treating skin conditions associated with ageing and pigmentation irregularities, with minimal downtime and exceptional long term benefits. With advances in research, science and light technology, BBL now provides highly accurate parameters to deliver superior results and allow us as clinicians to design treatments personalized for your skin and precisely target concerns such as: Skin Tone and Texture Pigmentation Broken Capillaries Rosacea Bruising Acne Ageing An exciting new advancement that comes with BBL is the treatment of acne. With a combination of photochemical and photothermal settings, we can tackle problematic acne from a number of angles, giving clients phenomenal and fast results. Extensive studies and research have proven that regular BBL treatments, not only prevent cellular ageing, but also turn back the clock, causing the DNA expression of skin cells to reverse back to a youthful, healthy state” (Youth Lab 2019). In the same way that Phototherapy is the ultimate correcting method, Hydrafacial is the ultimate skincare enhancement. Hydrafacial will not only improve the look of your skin, but with frequent treatments, will restore skin health (Hydrafacial, 2019). Hydrafacial targets concerns such as: Fine Lines & Wrinkles Skin Texture Elasticity & Firmness Even Tone & Vibrancy Skin Texture Brown Spots Oily & Congested Skin Enlarged Pores According to Youth Lab, “recently, there has been a lot of focus and research around ultilising multiple modalities to achieve skin goals. There has been a recent focus on the use of topical antioxidants in skin health. This treatment method is utilized in our popular Hydrafacial treatment where antioxidants are infused into the skin following the exfoliation and extraction phase. The addition of topical antioxidants to a BBL regimen has been shown to improve the chemical, clinical, biochemical and histological changes seen following BBL treatments alone. But what does this actually mean for the skin? Basically, combining BBL photorejuvenation treatments with topical application of antioxidants (with the Hydrafacial treatment) will result in greater improvement in the appearance of fine lines, pore size, hyperpigmentation, dullness and texture, than either treatment can provide on it’s own. The data supports the use of multi-modal therapy to create synergy and to optimize the end results and long term outcomes for BBL and Hydrafacial treatments. By stacking BBL treatments with the incredible Hydrafacial, we are combining the power of broad band light therapy with an intense infusion of potent antioxidants, including Vitamin A, Vitamin E, White Tea Extract, Horse Chestnut Seed Extract, and Rosemary Extract.   For more information regarding BBL an Hydrafacial treatments,...

Going Beyond Ultraviolet Protection

Going Beyond Ultraviolet Protection

Written by Natalie Goldman, LC, CALT   Summer is warm in Northern Arizona and Infrared Light (IR) is emitted off objects, creating  electromagnetic radiation. These waves of infrared radiation are longer than those of visible light, according to the California Institute of Technology. These waves are closer to that of  heat from microwaves, sunlight and fire. All objects on Earth emit IR radiation in the form of heat. Research  on infrared damage or “heat shock” has demonstrated to cause premature aging. SkinMedica’s revolutionary sunscreen Total Defense + Repair has SOL-IR Advances Antioxidant Complex. This trio of potent antioxidants is a treatment to defend against harmful Infrared Rays & Ultraviolet Rays, while supporting the skin’s ability to support itself. Testimonials are in the results. Please remember when purchasing medical grade skin care to only seek from authorized dealers such as Face & Body to ensure the products efficacy.   To purchase this product, visit: https://facebodyspa.brilliantconnections.com/collections/total-defense-%2B-repair/95494.html?cgid=td%2Br&lang=en_US#cgid=td%2Br&lang=en_US&start=1  ...

What is KYBELLA®?

Posted by on Mar 6, 2018 in News, Tips & Tricks | 0 comments

What is KYBELLA®?

KYBELLA KYBELLA® is a prescription medicine used in adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat), also called “double chin.” It is not known if KYBELLA® is safe and effective for the treatment of fat outside of the submental area or in children under 18 years of age. If you’re interested in a nonsurgical way to reduce submental fullness, KYBELLA® may be right for you. KYBELLA® is a first-of-its-kind injectable treatment for adults with submental fullness that destroys fat cells under the chin to improve your profile. KYBELLA® MAY BE RIGHT FOR YOU IF: You’re bothered (unhappy, self-conscious, embarrassed) by fat under the chin, also known as submental fullness, you feel the condition makes you look older or heavier than you actually are, you don’t want to have surgery, and/or you eat well and exercise, but submental fullness does not go away. Multiple injections under the chin per treatment; up to 6 treatments spaced at least 1 month apart. 59% of patients received 6 KYBELLA® treatments in clinical studies. Treatment is tailored to the amount of fat under the chin and aesthetic goals. Treatment can only be administered by a KYBELLA®-trained healthcare specialist. At each treatment, you will receive multiple small injections under your chin, and the injection process takes about 15 to 20 minutes. The exact number of injections will depend on the amount of fat you have under your chin and your desired profile. After KYBELLA® treatment, you will likely have some swelling, bruising, or numbness under your chin. Be sure to inform your healthcare professional if you develop an uneven smile, facial muscle weakness, or difficulty swallowing. You should not receive KYBELLA® if you have an infection in the treatment area. Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. Especially tell your healthcare provider if you take a medicine that prevents the clotting of your blood (antiplatelet or anticoagulant medicine). There are possible side effects that KYBELLA® can cause serious side effects, including nerve injury in the jaw (which can cause an uneven smile or facial muscle weakness) or trouble swallowing. Injection site problems including: bruising, hair loss, open sores (ulcers), damage and tissue cell-death (necrosis) around the injection site. Call your healthcare provider if you develop open sores or drainage from the treatment area. The most common side effects of KYBELLA® include swelling, pain, numbness, redness, and areas of hardness in the treatment area. This treatment is permanent. It kills the fat cells in the neck and is an excellent alternative to...

Arnica Massage Oil

Posted by on Nov 29, 2017 in News, Tips & Tricks | 0 comments

Arnica Massage Oil

The Benefits of Arnica Massage Oil Arnica is a flowering perennial plant from the daisy family. It’s blossoms are used to make arnica oil, an aromatic, yellow essential oil. At Flagstaff Face & Body, we use an arnica oil blended with other relaxing essential oils to help temporarily reduce inflammation, soothe the body and mind, and reduce tension in muscles and joints. Arnica works by increasing circulation, thereby increasing energy and promoting healing throughout the body. It is widely used to reduce muscle soreness from sports or excersize, and can help to reduce arthritic pain. When topically applied to minor injuries like bruises and strained muscles, it can quickly stimulate circulation to those areas, including the resources and oxygen needed to produce healthy new cells and heal broken blood vessels. When applied to the base of the neck or temples, it can work to quickly relive migraines or headaches. When applied to the skin, this oil takes about 3 hours to absorb into the body. Numerous studies have found that arnica can help stimulate the production & activity of white blood cells. This helps stimulate the immune system and increase bacterial and viral resistance. Schedule a soothing, repairing, and anti-inflammatory arnica oil massage or body wrap today & experience the...
