Leona Bix was born in Germany and moved to Phoenix, AZ at the age of 14 where she lived until moving to Flagstaff in 2003. Leona attended Arizona State University where she earned her BA in Journalism. She worked for many years as a Sales and Marketing professional in the Pharmaceutical Industry. Leona fulfilled a lifelong dream of spa ownership in January 2010 when she purchased Flagstaff Face & Body. She is extremely passionate about the spa and intends to continue bringing the latest technology and advanced treatments to Flagstaff.
Leona has a daughter in college, twin sons and two wonderful daughters-in-law. Most recently she welcomed Charlotte, her beautiful granddaughter. She loves her dogs, dancing and the outdoors. Leona considers herself fortunate to have acquired Flagstaff Face & Body and is grateful for her most amazing staff!
After graduating from the University of Missouri at Kansas City Medical School I completed my plastic surgery training at St. Louis University. I opened my plastic surgery practice on July 10, 1989 in Phoenix, AZ. I am currently a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, Arizona Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Maricopa Medical Society where I served as President in 2001.
As a plastic surgeon of 26 years in the Valley, I am honored to be the Medical Director of Flagstaff Face & Body. I have enjoyed working with Leona and her staff since January 2014. I have been impressed by the quality of care they provide and the professionalism of the med spa.
I will continue to see patients at Flagstaff Face & Body as well as provide the duties as Medical Director. With the combined expertise of Leona’s staff, Nurse Norma and myself I look forward to serving Flagstaff Face & Body for many years to come.
Raised in Scottsdale, I attended NAU as an undergraduate studying Exercise Science and Education. After graduation, I moved to Telluride, CO to enjoy the immense beauty of the San Juans for four years before heading to the East Coast (Massachusetts) for a new experience. I studied and practiced massage therapy and energy work for several years prior to pursuing a career in Nursing. My hope was to find an intelligent blend of medicine and healthy lifestyle, which I am grateful to have found at Flagstaff Face & Body!
In my personal time, I love being with my three dogs and my husband either relaxing at home or embarking on outdoor adventures, including rock climbing, hiking, and snowboarding.
A graduate of Arizona State University with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing, I started my nursing career at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Phoenix, AZ. working as a Charge Nurse in the Nursery Intensive Care Unit and on the team for High Risk Deliveries. In August, 1995, I had the opportunity to look a different direction when I interviewed with Dr. John Bass. Plastic surgery was an up and coming specialty in the Valley and I felt that it would be a welcoming part of my career to be part of a team that helps healthy patients feel better about the way they look.
With Dr. Bass as my mentor I became familiar with everything from breast reconstruction to all the surgical procedures for the face and body. During the late 90’s is also just about the time when Botox and fillers started making their entrance into the aesthetic world. By attending conferences of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons as well as attending numerous Injector conferences and training sessions my knowledge of this amazing field continues to grow. Over the years I have taught training sessions for doctors and nurses in techniques to uses in facial volumizing and neurotoxins. I recently celebrated my 20th year working with Dr. Bass – love this business.
Currently, I co-consult with Dr. Bass, presenting surgical and non-surgical options to our clients and do all aspects of patient care. I also enjoy getting artistic erasing wrinkles and lifting faces and hands with the non-surgical products available to this industry.
I see being part of Face & Body as an opportunity to compliment the services offered here and to help enhance the possibilities that are available to you, the guest.
I am Jayne Summerfield Clark. I’ve recently had the pleasure of becoming a part of the staff at Flagstaff Face and Body. I am one of the client care specialists at the receptionist desk.
I was born to an Air Force pilot and his wife in San Pedro, California the year the hoola hoop was invented and Dwight D. Eisenhower was president. I married Brad Clark in November of 1981. We raised two terrific children, Emily and Peter, who now live in Denver, Colorado and Portland, Oregon, respectively.
I practiced dental hygiene for 32 years in California and Arizona. Since stepping away from dentistry, I participated in the Flagstaff Leadership Program in 2010, I’ve managed Splendid Things, a small women’s boutique for three years and I’ve been the eyeglass coordinator for the Flagstaff Sunrise Lions Club since 2010.
My love for travel has taken me to Chile, Argentina, Holland, Belgium, France, Alaska and Peru. I hike around the forest almost daily with my trusty corgi, Buzz, enjoy a good workout at Jazzercize and enjoy sipping wine downtown on most first Friday artwalks.
I am thrilled to be associated with Flagstaff Face and Body and look forward to meeting our many clients and getting to know them …..hopefully YOU too!

I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. Having the passion to care for others, I became a caregiver right after high school. Only after two years, it began to take a toll on my emotional state, so I ventured off to find another way to live out my passion. I found massage therapy, and I’ve never looked back. I am always trying to expand my knowledge, so I am able to give my clients the best experience possible. I perform Swedish massage, deep tissue, and trigger point. I love to take hikes and explore Flagstaff in my spare time.
My name is Leah Plenge. I am thrilled to have joined the talented Flagstaff Face and Body team.
Growing up in beautiful Sedona I spent a lot of time outdoors enjoying the creek and hiking. After high school, I decided to stay near my family and attended Northern Arizona University majoring in Spanish with a minor in Photography.
Fifteen years later I am still living in and loving our little mountain town! In my free time I love baking with my daughter and hiking with my dogs.
Skin care and overall body health has always been an important part of my life. I love to help people look and feel their best! I am excited to broaden my knowledge and pass on my passion to the wonderful Flagstaff Face and Body clientele.

Hello my name is Karin Carlberg and I am extremely excited to be joining the Flagstaff Face & Body team. I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona but always had a longing for Flagstaff. I made my escape from Phoenix to Flagstaff with my twin sister in 2003, where I attended NAU. I graduated with a Bachelors in Psychology and a minor in French.
For the past 3 years I have been working in the Behavioral and Mental Health field as a Mental Health Technician in a Psychiatric and Crisis facility. My time as a Mental Health Technician helped me to discover the connection of the mind and body. After spending those three years helping people to understand their minds, I am ready to take on the challenge of helping people understand and support the health of their bodies.
During my free time away from Face & Body, you can find me doing any physical activity, especially dance and yoga. I enjoy spending quality time with my friends, family and my two furry friends, Emma and Colbi Jack.
I am a very friendly person, so please feel free to connect with me along with the rest of the wonderful front desk staff. I look forward to providing you with the same quality of care I received being a client myself at Flagstaff Face&Body.
Born and raised in Yuma, I moved to Flagstaff to pursue my undergraduate degree in Exercise Science at NAU. Immediately after graduation, I attended ASIS massage school and am now a proud graduate. Currently, I am continuing my education, undertaking a master’s degree in Bio-engineering. I feel grateful to be working in a field that I am passionate about while I study, and humbled to be a part of the Flagstaff Face & Body team. Versed in a variety of modalities, I enjoy the practice of integration to meet my patient’s needs.
While out of the office, I enjoy adventuring with my dog, reading, and video gaming!
Born and raised mostly in Phoenix, I started out as a studio arts major in college. After about a year I developed an interest in anatomy & physiology and decided to pursue a massage career instead. I found my passion in massage therapy and utilized my skills as a creative outlet. I’m trained in a variety of modalities and pride myself on being able to hone into the needs of each individual.
Out of the office I love to play video games, go on hikes with my big dog named Goliath, and practice yoga & meditation!
